Appliance Removal

Appliance removal in San Diego. We handle the refrigerant, the weight, and the paperwork.

Old appliances aren't trash — legally, they're regulated. Refrigerators and freezers contain refrigerants that have to be reclaimed by someone certified. We handle all of that and take the appliance to a metal recycler where the copper, aluminum, and steel get recovered.

What do homeowners ask about Appliance Removal?

Do you disconnect the water line and gas?

Yes for water lines (shut off the valve, disconnect the supply, cap if needed). For gas, we shut off the valve and disconnect — if the connection looks corroded or unsafe, we stop and recommend a licensed plumber. Safety first.

What happens to the refrigerant?

It's reclaimed by an EPA Section 608-certified technician at our recycling partner. California and federal law both require this — it's not something you can legally skip by dumping a fridge at the curb.

Does SDG&E have a free pickup program?

Yes — SDG&E's Appliance Recycling Program picks up working second refrigerators and freezers for free and pays $50. Catch: it has to be working, 10–27 cubic feet, and plugged in when they arrive. If yours is dead or full of mold, we're the option.

Can you remove a built-in or cabinet-depth fridge?

Yes. We bring flat dollies and straps for tight openings. Cabinet-depth fridges often require removing trim or adjacent cabinets — we note that before we start and only pull what you okay.

Homeowners who hired us for this

Hadn't parked a car in the garage since 2019. Called Monday, they were there Wednesday morning, and by 1 p.m. I had an empty garage swept clean. Flat price, no hourly nonsense, and they donated half of it to Habitat ReStore.

Dad passed and we had six weeks to list the house. Clear Out walked through with my sister and me, flagged three things that turned out to be worth something, and finished the whole 2,800 sq ft home in three days. Broom-clean handoff. Realtor was impressed.

Old sectional had to come out before the new one was delivered. Third-floor walk-up, narrow staircase. Two guys, 45 minutes, no charge for the stairs. They took a bookshelf and a dresser too — $275 flat. Couldn't have done it alone.
