Hot Tub Removal

Hot tub removal in San Diego. Gone by dinner.

A dead hot tub is four things: heavy (250–900 lbs empty), full of water you'll have to drain, electrically connected, and way too big for the dump truck. We drain it, cut the shell into manageable pieces, disconnect the electrical, and haul everything in one trip.

What's included in this service?

  • Drain the tub through an existing hose bib or submersible pump
  • Disconnect electrical at the sub-panel (GFCI circuit)
  • Cut fiberglass or acrylic shell into manageable pieces with reciprocating saw
  • Pull the cover, pumps, motors, and insulation foam
  • Remove cedar surround or pergola if requested (separate quote)
  • Haul everything to the recycler — shell fragments, metal frame, motors
  • Leave the pad swept and the electrical safely capped
  • Most residential tubs done in a single 2–3 hour visit

When do you need this service?

  • Tub hasn't been used in years and is leaking or seized
  • Selling the home and the tub is a buyer red flag
  • Replacing with a new tub and need the old one out first
  • Storm damage or tree damage to the shell
  • Landscaping or pool project needs the space
  • Moving and the tub stays behind

What do homeowners ask about Hot Tub Removal?

Do I need to drain it first?

Helps if you can — cuts an hour off the job — but we bring a submersible pump if you can't. We drain into a landscape area or down a driveway, wherever works for your property.

What about the electrical disconnect?

We shut off the breaker and disconnect the whip at the tub. We do not pull the dedicated circuit from the sub-panel — that's a job for a licensed electrician. We cap the conduit safely so you can decide later.

Can you remove a hot tub that's inside a pergola or raised deck?

Yes. We cut the shell small enough to fit through any gate or doorway. Pergola or deck removal is a separate line item — we'll quote both so you can decide.

Is any of it recyclable?

The steel frame and pump motors go to metal recycling. The fiberglass or acrylic shell unfortunately does not have a strong recycling stream in California yet — it goes to construction debris. Better than landfill, not as good as we'd like.

Homeowners who hired us for this

Hadn't parked a car in the garage since 2019. Called Monday, they were there Wednesday morning, and by 1 p.m. I had an empty garage swept clean. Flat price, no hourly nonsense, and they donated half of it to Habitat ReStore.

Dad passed and we had six weeks to list the house. Clear Out walked through with my sister and me, flagged three things that turned out to be worth something, and finished the whole 2,800 sq ft home in three days. Broom-clean handoff. Realtor was impressed.

Old sectional had to come out before the new one was delivered. Third-floor walk-up, narrow staircase. Two guys, 45 minutes, no charge for the stairs. They took a bookshelf and a dresser too — $275 flat. Couldn't have done it alone.
