How much does junk removal cost?

How is junk removal priced?

By volume, not weight or hour. We show you the truck bed marked in eighths and you see what fraction of the truck your pile fills. You see the flat-rate quote before we lift anything. No hourly billing, no surprise dump fees.

What are the typical price ranges?

Minimum pickup (single item, driveway-accessible) is $129. A quarter-truck runs $249–$299. Half-truck $399–$449. Three-quarter truck $499–$549. Full 20-cubic-yard truck $550–$750. Specific items — mattresses, fridges, hot tubs — have specific flat rates because they carry specific disposal fees.

Do you charge extra for stairs or walk-ups?

No. Flat rate by volume means the third-floor walk-up in Pacific Beach pays the same as the ground-floor garage in El Cajon. Our crews bring compact dollies and the patience to disassemble when needed.

Is there a trip fee for outer communities?

No trip fee anywhere in the county. Mountain communities (Julian, Alpine, Borrego Springs, etc.) typically need 24–48 hours of notice so we can route efficiently — not because of price, just logistics.

How fast can you come out?

Can you come today?

Same-day service is usually available when you call before noon on a weekday. Saturday same-day is possible but books faster. Sundays are reserved for emergency or scheduled-ahead jobs.

What counts as an emergency?

Buyer walkthrough tomorrow morning, tenant move-out deadline, truck-rental ending today, HOA fine pending, storm damage requiring cleanup before the next storm. We hold slots open every day for exactly this kind of need.

What about mountain communities?

Alpine, Ramona, Julian, Pine Valley, Campo, Borrego — we cover all of it. Same-day is possible for closer-in mountain (Alpine, Ramona). Farther-out mountain typically needs 24–48 hours so we can route the truck with enough capacity.

Do I need to be home?

Not required if the junk is accessible (driveway pile, unlocked garage, side-yard gate). We send before-and-after photos and accept card, Venmo, Zelle, or cash on completion. Many of our same-day pickups happen while the homeowner is at work.

What do you take (and not take)?

What will you take?

Furniture of any size, appliances (including fridges and freezers with refrigerant), mattresses and box springs, construction debris, yard waste and palm fronds, hot tubs and swim spas, e-waste, estate and whole-house contents, garage and shed contents, commercial furniture, office equipment.

What won't you take?

Hazardous waste by law: paint, pesticides, motor oil, asbestos, propane tanks, ammunition, medical sharps. These go to the County of San Diego Household Hazardous Waste drop-off — free to residents. We'll tell you exactly where on the call.

Can you remove a hot tub?

Yes. We drain it through an existing hose bib or bring a submersible pump, disconnect the electrical whip, cut the shell into manageable pieces with a reciprocating saw, and haul. Most residential tubs done in 2–3 hours. Swim spas and larger tubs quoted separately.

What about a refrigerator with refrigerant?

We take fridges and freezers. The refrigerant is reclaimed by an EPA Section 608-certified technician at our recycling partner — California and federal law both require this. SDG&E also has a free pickup program for *working* second fridges and freezers that pays $50 — if that's your situation, we'll tell you.

What happens after you haul?

Do you really donate or is that marketing?

Real. Furniture in decent shape goes to Father Joe's Villages, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, St. Vincent de Paul, and Goodwill. Working appliances go to SDG&E's rebate program or to a resale partner. Receipts available for tax purposes on request.

How do you recycle mattresses?

California law (since 2016) requires mattresses to be recycled rather than landfilled. We plastic-wrap on-site per Bye Bye Mattress rules and deliver to a certified CRRC facility where about 80% of the mattress weight — steel springs, foam, cotton, fabric — gets recovered.

What about electronics and scrap metal?

E-waste goes to an R2-certified recycler. Servers and networking equipment can get a certificate of destruction on request. Scrap metal — appliances, old tools, hot tub frames — goes to a local metal recycler. Copper, aluminum, and steel all recovered.

Do you handle estate and hoarding situations?

Do you do whole-house estate cleanouts?

Yes. A typical 1,500 sq ft home takes a full day with a two-person crew. Larger homes (3,000+ sq ft) take 2–3 days. We walk through with you first, flag anything that might have value, coordinate with estate sale companies if you want one first, and finish broom-clean and listing-ready.

Do you handle hoarding situations?

Yes — compassionately, paced to the client, never judgment. We work with family and often a therapist or case manager. We never throw out anything the client hasn't okayed. Phased multi-day projects are the norm.

Is estate/hoarding work confidential?

Completely. Unmarked trucks on request. No photos or client details shared without written permission. Most of the estate and hoarding work we do, the neighbors never know we were there.

Do you work with probate attorneys and real estate agents?

Yes. Estate cleanouts under tight listing timelines are a regular part of our work. We provide photo documentation for probate files, written quotes for estate accounting, and coordinate directly with the attorney or realtor when the client prefers.
