Mattress removal in San Diego. California banned the landfill. We know where they go.
Since 2016, California law has required mattresses and box springs to be recycled rather than dumped. The Bye Bye Mattress program handles it at no cost to haulers — but curbside pickup has weeks-long waits and strict rules about bagging. We pick up today, bag it correctly, and deliver to a certified recycler.

What do homeowners ask about Mattress Removal?
Why can't I just put it at the curb?
In most San Diego County cities you can — but only during scheduled bulky-item pickup windows (often quarterly) and only if it's bagged in clear plastic per the hauler's rules. If you miss the window or skip the bag, the city will not take it and you're looking at a code enforcement notice.
What if the mattress has bedbugs?
Tell us on the phone. We'll bring extra heavy-gauge plastic, seal it on site, and mark the load. Bedbugs don't disqualify it from recycling — but the sealing protects the next stops and our truck.
Do you take the box spring and frame too?
Yes. Box springs recycle the same way. Metal frames go to scrap. Wood headboards get reused where possible or recycled.
How does the recycling work?
Mattresses get disassembled at a CRRC-certified facility. Steel springs, foam, cotton, and fabric are each recovered and resold. About 80% of a mattress's weight gets recycled. Funding comes from the $10.50 recycling fee you paid when you bought the new one.

Homeowners who hired us for this
Hadn't parked a car in the garage since 2019. Called Monday, they were there Wednesday morning, and by 1 p.m. I had an empty garage swept clean. Flat price, no hourly nonsense, and they donated half of it to Habitat ReStore.
Dad passed and we had six weeks to list the house. Clear Out walked through with my sister and me, flagged three things that turned out to be worth something, and finished the whole 2,800 sq ft home in three days. Broom-clean handoff. Realtor was impressed.
Old sectional had to come out before the new one was delivered. Third-floor walk-up, narrow staircase. Two guys, 45 minutes, no charge for the stairs. They took a bookshelf and a dresser too — $275 flat. Couldn't have done it alone.
