Red flags

When should you stop and call a pro?

Six situations where DIY becomes more costly, dangerous, or legally tricky than just having us handle it. If your pile involves any of these, call us and we'll route it properly.

  • Rodent or insect infestation in the pile

Requires PPE and potentially pest control before haul. We refer to a licensed biohazard partner first, then clean up after.

  • Visible mold on furniture, mattresses, or boxes

Mold has to be handled in a sealed bag and can't mix with donated goods. We'll bag on site — or you can refer biohazard if severe.

  • Suspected asbestos in older construction debris

If your home was built before 1980, drywall, floor tiles, and pipe wrap may contain asbestos. Test first. We can't legally haul.

  • Locked or stuck safes, gun safes, large equipment

Specialty movers for safes and commercial equipment have the right rigging. We refer and then handle everything else on the job.

  • Hot tub or swim spa

Hot tubs require draining, electrical disconnect, and cutting the shell on-site. Not a standard haul — we have the saws and tools.

  • Piano (grand or upright slate pool table)

Uprights we handle. Grands and full-slate pool tables need specialty riggers. We refer and coordinate the rest.
